A Failure to Reassure the Public

I was listening to the MP3 player while walking the dog this evening when I came across the phrase:

"This morning's unprecedented solar eclipse is no cause for alarm."

This cannot possibly be a correct statement. If you see a solar eclipse that wasn't expected, you are entirely justified in becoming alarmed.
